“Walk to your favorite restaurant at least a few kilometers away during day time for a cup of great coffee while you munch few nuts and meditate.” This is the essence of the book “The Big Five” by Sanjeev Chopra and David Fisher. Sanjeev Chopra is a sibling of famed health and wellness guru of USA, Deepak Chopra. He is a professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and he served as the faculty dean for Continuing Medical Education there. Both Chopra brothers are bestselling authors and sought-after motivational speakers. I am very fond of their books. What I like most about their books is the research back up of their every claim. Every word appears to be authentic.
The Big Five talks about five simple elements for longer life. They are Coffee, Nuts, Vitamin D, Exercises and Meditation. Mere knowing these elements is not enough. All health buffs must read this book to understand their importance through several scientific papers cited in this succinctly written book. Ever since I read this book, walking to my favorite coffee shop for a cup of filter black coffee on a sunny morning while I munch a few almonds and listen to some transcendental music has become my favorite past-time during weekends!
